Simon Ludgate - Founding Partner

Simon has spent most of his working life travelling the world and has been behind the creation of a series of ventures in a wide variety of fields.

Before launching EgBeta, he witnessed economic and social chaos close up many times in some of the world's poorest countries. He was working in Kashmir, Pakistan, shortly after the earthquake and was also in Indonesia to witness the aftermath of the Indonesian tsunami.

His specialisms are fund-raising and energy.  He is particularly interested in renewable and sustainable energy sources.




Iain King - Founding Partner

Before setting up EgBeta with Simon as a commodity broker, ex-Army Lynx helicopter pilot Iain was drawn into the oil business by his experience running an executive jet and helicopter charter company. Aircraft need fuel - lots of it - and he was introduced to the complex world of fuel supply as a consumer and eventually as a provider.

Iain also travels extensively and his work has taken him around the Middle East and Asia.






Avni Istrefi - Partner

Now based in the UK, Avni is originally from the Balkan states and has a huge amount of experience in dealing with the instability of the Balkans' political and economic environments.  

With a background in the military and security industries, Avni has also been involved with providing personal security to some of the world's most influential and wealthy individuals.

Through his many business contacts and experience in dealing with international trading deals, Avni brings an invaluable third dimension to the EgBeta team.
